Child support payments are collected and processed by the California State Disbursement Unit (SDU). While wage withholdings are required by law, the SDU provides the Parent Paying Support (PPS) with several other methods for making additional payments voluntarily. If you are not subject to service of wage withholdings (i.e., self employed), these options are available. For anyone, making additional payments will reduce the amount of interest you pay.

Parent Paying Support (PPS) payment options allow an automatic withdrawal from your bank account or credit card utilizing a Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to you when you register with the SDU. You can initiate this using the SDU website or the SDU integrated voice response system at 1-866-901-3212. This payment option allows the Parent Paying Support (PPS) to submit payments electronically from their bank account or credit card through a secure, internet- or phone- based system at no charge.
