When does my child emancipate?
-
Standard emancipation occurs when one of the
following is met:
- The child marries, the child turns 18 and
is no longer a full time high school student,
or
- The child turns 19 even if the child is
still a full time high school student. Once a
child turns 18, this office will verify that
the child is in school full time for continued
collection.
