DCSS has been notified of several "phishing" scams that target individuals who have child support cases
or individuals that use Electronic Payment Cards (EPC). If you receive a call from either an automated system or a person claiming to be
the California Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) or California State Disbursement Unit (SDU), please do not provide your
Social Security number or any other personal information.
To verify that any calls you receive related to child support are
authentic, please call your local child support agency at 1-866-901-3212.
In addition, the California Department of Child Support Services currently does not utilize smart phone apps for activity related to your
California EPC debit card. Using such applications may subject you to scams which try to fraudulently obtain your banking information,
including your User ID log-on and password.
If you believe your account has been compromised, please call EPPICard. The number is on the back of your card.
